The area around the villa

The villa is located in Marathi only 100 meters from sandy Marathi beach. Marathi has two wonderful beaches, divided by the pier of the harbour.

Both are sandy and well organised with sun beds and umbrellas with cafes and tavernas. Marathi is near Sternes village which is one of the 20 villages of Akrotiri peninsula.  In the Akrotiri area you will find some remarkable historical monuments, century-old monasteries and churches, impressive caves with rich lithological and archaeological interest.

The surrounding area gives you the feeling that you are in the total nature but at the same time it is very close to the living areas. The closest living area to the villas is the small traditional village of Sternes, 4 km away from the villa. In Sternes village you will be able to find some shops such as a mini market, bakery, butcher and pharmacy. More shops can be found in Kounoupidiana (12 km away) which is the largest village of Akrotiri peninsula.

Regarding Akrotiri area, there are some remarkable historical monuments, monasteries, churches, caves, the famous tombs of Venizelos and many places with archaeological interests.In addition, if you are looking for privileges that only a big city can offer, then Chania town is 16 km away and offers unique facilities and a wide variety of entertainment.
